October is now in full swing, and the entirety of the Viewpoint community has come together to celebrate cooler temperatures (mostly), pumpkin spice menu items, homecoming, but most importantly breast cancer awareness month. Everyone on campus is getting involved with this, especially the athletes that are bringing the pink
The Volleyball team had an eventful week, with their pink out game (Spike out Breast Cancer) followed by their senior night. Although their season has recently come to a close, their impact on campus culture was definitely felt by all students and teachers. Support for these games were absolutely amazing and I am confident that this level of student participation in sports will continue for the seasons to come.
Football is also getting in on the action, by doing a pink out game against their rivals, Campbell Hall. As a part of the football team myself, getting to wear pink accessories and run through a Breast Cancer awareness poster was great, as well as the entire student section wearing pink.
October is an amazing month that should be enjoyed, but it is important to remember the hardships that people with breast cancer go through every day. I hope everyone has an amazing rest of October following this exciting kickoff!
