The release of the new GTA 6 trailer has garnered the attention of millions of people around the world within its first hours of release. If you’re a Grand Theft Auto fanatic, there’s no doubt you’ve seen it already. If you aren’t, one of the first things revealed is that the game brings us back to a gameplay area from the older GTA games, “vice city” (which is based off of Florida, especially Miami). This is an amazing throwback for fans of the former games and an interesting place to explore nonetheless for brand new players. Additionally, we get our first playable female protagonist of the franchise!
Here are some GTA VI trailer details that you might have missed. Although the trailer is only around 90 seconds long, it’s packed full of detail that gives an insight to what gameplay will feel/play like. The first thing to take note of was the new physics engine being used, which allows things like water, weather, and character movement to imitate the real world a lot better than the previous games. This effect also can be seen through the movement of hairstyles, allowing them to flow freely in the wind and just look more realistic/natural overall.
As aforementioned, atmospheric weather also seems to be present with unique cloud formations. Water and ocean transparency is also something that has mostly been absent in previous titles of the game, but look to add extra realism to the map. Speaking of the map, numerous wide shots reveal just how big the open world will be.
These shots provide us with prospective vehicles that will be available to drive in the game. We can notice a variety of cars, bikes and quads. Many aircrafts can also be seen. Helicopters, small planes and even jumbo jets, perfect for taking in all of that scenery from the sky. With GTA6 being a game that is exclusive to new-gen consoles (XBox Series X and the PS5) the loading times for the game should be quick, coupled with amazing graphics and smooth gameplay.
Animals can also be spotted throughout the trailer. From a cute little chihuahua to giant alligators, the new wildlife takes a starring role. This seemingly fun, but minor detail, can actually play a huge role in adding an extra layer of realism.
There has always been a phone available to your character in the GTA universe, and I am glad to see that this feature is returning. Because this game is in the modern era, the social media sites available seem to have received an overhaul. TikTok-esque style interfaces with live streaming as well as TV news and other platforms. We can see people on the beach filming everything, which seems to better fit our modern era instincts.
There’s lots to look forward to in the new GTA, but with a release date of 2025, don’t hold your breath just yet. However, it seems that we will get another amazing rockstar GTA game, with a new focus on realism while keeping the old, fun, feel from the older games.
