It’s October 1st and if you haven’t watched the second season of Netflix’s hit TV show, Wednesday, starring Jenna Ortega, then it’s a perfect show for you to binge before Halloween hits. Here are the top five reasons that you should unwind to this spine-chilling show.
- After watching Lurch (played by Joonas Suotame) serve up some of his best recipes for the family, there will be no doubt that you will be in the mood to whip up some delicious Halloween delights. Spider crawling cookies anyone?
- In addition to our favorite returning character, season two also hosts some delightful new additions to the cast including Wednesday’s grandmother, Hester Frump (played by Joanna Lumley), who has a deliciously dark sense of humor and is a connoisseur of cremated remains. You’ll love watching Wednesday and her grandmother connect over their love of death.
- Every good piece of cinema utilizes themes to share more than just what’s on the screen and Wednesday is no exception. Riffing off of Alfred Hitchcock’s, The Birds, Wednesday season two uses the symbol of a raven to represent Wednesday’s coming doom. Add Edgar Allen Poe, the supposed illustrious Nevermore alumni, who wrote the poem, “The Raven,” for an intellectual watch that even your own mother couldn’t object to.
- Wednesday and Enid swap bodies after a failed attempt by Wednesday to regain her psychic abilities. The whole “Freaky Friday” vibe of the episode is really funny and Wednesday dancing in public with pink on is enough to get a laugh out of anybody.
- Finally, there’s nothing better than a good mystery show to watch during what’s dubbed as the most spooktastic month of the year. Will Wednesday get her abilities back? What will happen to Tyler? Will Wednesday connect with Morticia’s sister, Aunt Ophelia? If you want to get the answers to all of your questions you should definitely watch the second season.
